Leaving school for lunch is a senior privilege. The Pirates Eye conducted a poll to find out the top five senior lunch spots. Underclassmen have senior lunch privilege to look forward to.
5. Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks (27%)
Both coffee chains are close to South, with Dunkin about a five-minute drive away and Starbucks about a 10-minute drive. These two spots are popular for their rotating spring flavors, such as their iced matcha latte at Dunkin, and lavender cream chai at Starbucks. These popular chains have been a major contributor to the performative male trend.
4. Gas Stations (30%)
Gas stations such as the 7/11 are student favorites because of their low cost and ease of ordering. A variety of food options are available, such as energy drinks, hot dogs, and candy. Wawa, one of these in particular, has many different sandwiches and wraps, which students can get for about five dollars.
3. Chipotle (32%)
At Chipotle you can choose from four entree options: burritos, tacos, bowls, and salads. You can also add additional toppings like sour cream, and there are signature vegetarian options. Chipotle offers students a cost to proportion friendly ratio, with the costs ranging from around ten to fifteen dollars. My personal favorite are their beef bowls, which have the right amount of crunch and texture for a price of thirteen dollars.
2. Taco Bell (38%)
With their low cost combos starting at under five dollars, it’s no surprise that Taco Bell is a fan favorite among seniors. For me, this is one of the bestast food restaurants to get low cost yet filling meals. I usually get the tacos. You can order your meal, eat it at the restaurant, and return in time for the 11:40 bell.
1. Pizza spots (Aljons, Domino’s, Pizza Hut) (49%)
Pizza spots like Aljon’s, Domino’s, and Pizza Hut are the most popular lunch destinations for seniors. One of the major perks of these pizza places is that the food is ready within three to four minutes of ordering. The pizza places are close to the school. Many pizzas are only five dollars.
