2020 senior prank: bring your pet to school
March 31, 2020
How can seniors graduate without executing a jaw dropping senior prank? It just isn’t done.
On June 10, the Class of 2020 will bring their pets to school for the day. South will be transformed into an animal daycare, with interactive activities available all day for both pets and their owners.
Puppy pilates, cooking with cats and fingerprinting with fish are just some of the activities available.
“I’m looking forward to cooking with my cat because I’ve always felt she was born with a culinary gift but she’s never been able to show it off,” said senior Hannah Hindsdale.
At the end of the day, there will be an awards ceremony for the animals. Senior Sally Smith said, “I just hope there’s an award for best looking because I know my lizard will win. I don’t feed her 10 crickets a day for nothing.”
While bringing pets to school may seem chaotic or even dangerous (only one black widow spider registered for the event so far), there are rules to keep everyone safe.
Every pet must be on a leash. This keeps all of the animals controlled. “I think this rule is important because my goldfish Bubbles tends to wander off and get into trouble without a leash,” said senior John Joyce.
One requirement for the event: each student must bring all of their pets. “It’s cruel to leave one pet at home alone while the other is having fun,” said senior Mary Mays. This allows everyone’s pets to bond with the other animals, students and staff members.
“I have two dogs, a cat, two hamsters and a ferret, and I can never bring them anywhere together because they’re always arguing,” said senior Roger Ray. “I’m hoping this opportunity will ease the tension and allow them to make friends.”
Preparations for “bring your pet to school day” are already in full swing and all the seniors are waiting eagerly.
“It’s going to be ‘fintastic!’” said Joyce.
