HSS Student Council: 

General information:

• The South Student Council has extended Spirit Week to two weeks so hybrid groups can participate in weekly themes. 
• South’s school store remains open on school days for students who wish to purchase South merchandise. 
• Student Council has introduced trivia nights and monthly town hall meetings so students can ask questions and learn about the Student Council’s future events and plans. 

Freshman Class Council:

Class Council Member: Vice President Eliana Du

What we have done/what we are doing:

• Class Council has hosted a Halloween costume contest.
• Currently, Class Council is working on homecoming decorations and the theme is movies. The class color is white. The five movies are Frozen, 101 Dalmatians, Snow White, Ice Age and Big Hero 6.
• Class Council is also distributing homecoming t-shirts and promoting homecoming spirit days, which is now for two weeks. 

Future goals:

• Class Council hopes to work on class unity ideas.
• Class Council is working on preparing for the next class rally.

Sophomore Class Council: 

Class Council Member: President Kevin Song

Current events:

• Homecoming is coming up and decorations for the school can be done at home.
• Decorations will be put on regular printer paper and yellow construction paper.
• Class advisors will hang up the decorations. 
• The Homecoming theme is movies and the class color is yellow. The five movies are Teen Beach Movie Night, Night at the Museum, The Lion King, Yellow Submarine and The Bee Movie.

Junior Class Council:

Class Council Member: Vice President Samarth Sogani 

Current events/updates:

• If you ordered a T-shirt or hoodie, pick-ups are going to start on Wednesday, Nov. 11. 
• If you did not order one and still want to, contact a class officer since there are still extras. 
• Homecoming decorations are still ongoing. Materials will be picked up from school, worked on at home and dropped off afterward.
• The code for the decorations is on the Class of 2022 Google Classroom.

Upcoming events:

• Merchandise for Homecoming will be sent out soon and there are a couple of fundraisers coming up.

Senior Class Council: 

Class Council Member: Vice President Levi Elias

Current events:

• A design for Homecoming T-shirts has been selected and the class color for seniors is black. The five movies selected are The Dark Knight, Endgame, Men in Black, Harry Potter and It.
• Class Council is currently working on Homecoming decorations at five main areas with team leaders working on their allocated locations. 
• If you would like to help out with decorations, you can contact any member of the class council. 

Upcoming events/future plans:

• The next week of spirit week starts on Nov. 19 with a Harry Potter theme. Examples of ways to dress include wizard-related gear or a Harry Potter scar on your face. 
• Senior merchandise will be sold in the future and the Class Council will inform you of other events such as the senior mural or end-of-the-year events such as prom.
